to acknowledge a few of the Highlights of 2015.



Light The Night Walk for Leukemia & Lymphona

Light the Night 2014

For the 8th consecutive year "Stallions Survivors" participated in the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma. Every year we walk in memory of Miss Jennifer's late husband - Pino Gravina, and in support of those currently battling this disease. Our team was honoured to be asked to lead the walk this year in Toronto. We again exceeded our goal and raised $20,720 for this worthy cause. Since we began this walk our team has raised over $120,000. Thank you to everyone for your continued support in helping fight cancer.....together we can make a difference.

Durham Regional Police Food & Toy Drive

JAM families continue to amaze us. Thanks to everyones generosity we were able to number of children's Christmas just a little brighter. Couldn't be prouder of our many families willingness to help others.

Team Canada

Congratulations to Riley Campbell, McKenzie Carter, Yasmin Elliott, Sabrina Major, Caitlyn Sanderson Cora Tsigaris, Talen Tsigaris, Logan Walcer and Samantha Walcer for being chosen to represent Canada in Italy, Germany and Poland in November and December. These dancers competed in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Hip Hop at the International Dance Organizations competitions. Special congratulations to Riley Campbell who brought home a silver medal for Junior Tap Formation and McKenzie Carter who brought home the silver medal for her tap trio and Gold for children's formation. Well done have made us proud!!

BATD Scholarships Nominations

Another successful year for our hardworking students who received scholarship nominations by the examiners of the prestigious British Association Teachers of Dance. Each year students who have reached the appropriate level can take dance examinations with the B.A.T.D. An examiner may choose to select candidates from these exams to attend scholarship classes at the National Conference in the fall in Toronto. This year the following students were recognized by the examiners after achieving outstanding exam results. They are as follows:

Ballet Division - Carly Demczyk, Carli DeVos, Yasmin Elliott, Meghan Elsenaar, Julia Everitt, Hannah Jaramillo, Saige Kaczun, Deanna Shaw, Logan Walcer, Alyssa Winter, Renee Xie and Hannah Yuan

Tap Division - Riley Campbell, Carly Demczyk, Meghan Elsenaar, Paige Espinola, Yasmin Elliott, Julia Everitt, Hannah Jaramillo, Saige Kaczun, Natalie Malyjasiak, Mhairi Rothery and Deanna Shaw.

Special congratulations to Renee Xie who was awarded the "Most Promising" award in the Ballet Division at the conference.

Cut for Cancer

AM's 8th annual Cut For Cancer was another huge success. Thank you to Maria Antonia Hair Designs for donating the use of the facilities and to stylists Elaine Scudds and Jolene Mazgay for donating their services. Together we raised $1200 which was donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Locks of Love also received over 40 bundles of hair to help make wigs for cancer patients.

Pino Gravina Memorial, Sequins Plus and Fresh Dance Awards

This years recipients of the Pino Gravina Memorial Award were Bianca Gravina and Mackenzie Paul. The Pino Gravina Memorial award was created in memory of Miss Jennifer's late husband - Pino Gravina. Every year it is awarded to two students who have worked hard, showed consistently good work ethic and determination - qualities that exemplified who Pino was as a person. Congratulations ladies.

Sequins Plus has also generously donated scholarships to be awarded to students who have displayed exceptional potential and dedication to the art of dance. This years deserving recipients are Renee Xie and Hannah Yuan - Well done.

New this year we also have scholarships made available by two workshops.

Northern Movement - These scholarships have been awarded to Logan Rogers and Ally Stewart

Captivate - These scholarships have been awarded to the following;
Taylor Cranen, Maya D'Orazio, Saige Kaczun, Sophie Lauzon, Mhairi Rothery, Blake Russell, Eve Schmeichel and Maya Wright.

Again this year the teachers were asked to provide names of students they felt were deserving of the "Most Improved" and "Outstanding Potential" awards. This years winners are:

Most Improved -
Hailey Barrett, Emma DellaMotta, Brenden Elliott, Catey Fifield, Thushitha Gnanamuttu, Julia Gravina, Brianna McGuire, Kiera Smith, Isabelle Rainho and Cora Tsigaris

Outstanding Potential -
Meghan Asselin, Ana-Sofia Delrio, Jayna Hefford, Charlotte Kalmanson, Rachel Kooy, Olivia McVeigh, Alexa Riddolls, Marissa Spence, MacKenzie Stover and Emily Taylor.

JAM Competitive Team 2015

Light the Night 2014

Another great year for our JAM competitive team. The JAM dancers continued to win many top scores at the various competitions that they have entered. This year not only were they successful in obtaining many overall, choreography and judges choices awards, they were also awarded top score of the competition. Numerous dancers were also awarded scholarships for various workshops and intensives. A huge congratulations to the entire team.
