Another wonderful year has passed and JAM would like
to acknowledge a few of the Highlights of 2018.

 

 

JAM 2018 Competitive Team

DANCE PE CHANCE

Another amazing year with our 78 member competitive team at five different locations across Ontario. Our incredible team number Dance Pe Chance brought home a  total of 8 overall awards on its own - they included 1st Overall Intermediate line, Highest open mark of the competition and Highest Mark of the entire competition (twice).
Thank you to choreographers - Jen Gravina, Sara Della Motta and Sarah Welling and to all the dancers for making there vision come to life. The team also received in excess of 100 overall awards including Most Inspiring, Most Potential and Top Choreo.  Dancers also received over 25 scholarships in recognition of there hard work. Congratulations team on a job well done!!



Pino Gravina Memorial Award and Sequins Plus Awards


2018 Pino Gravina Award

The Pino Gravina award was created in memory of Miss Jennifer's late husband. It is awarded every year to 2 - 3 students who have worked hard, shown consistently good work ethic and determination - qualities that exemplified who Pino was as a person. The 2018 recipients of this award are Jessica Maracle and Alyssa Winter.

The Sequins plus award is generously donated by Sequins Plus in Oshawa to be presented to dancers that the staff feel are deserving. The 2018 recipients of this award are Lauren Anderson and Vanessa Moussa-Kawar.

In addition to the above the studio also awards dancers for "Outstanding Potential" and "Most Improved" at the June year end recital. The teachers are asked to provide names of students that they felt were deserving of recognition. 
This years recipients are as follows:

OUTSTANDING POTENTIAL:
Mia Barrileros, Marseilles Bennett, Danica Della Motta, Chelsea Edgerton, Lacey Fountain, Talitha Gibbes, Laana Gomes, Nicole Gonzales, Aubrey-Jean Jenereaux, Maeve Mahoney, Sadie Maruyama, Kendra Mendez, Selena Palma, Sofia Philip, Spencer Ross, Elle Senior, Hannah Taylor and Anne Xu.

MOST IMPROVED:
Syerra Amores, Kate Anderson, Ava Andreadis, Claire Archer, Marissa Biswas, Janiyah Bosse-Mark, Lena Bunn,
Isabelle Coulthard, Hanna Della Motta, Sarah Dover, Justin Giles, Rachel Kooy, Natasha Moussa-Kawar, Esperenz Nazareth, Gracie Nolan and Sam Uiga.

The studio was also able to provide scholarships to dancers for the Breaking Bounds Summer Intensive and Fall Intensive.
This years recipients are:

Natalie Malyjasiak, Caitlyn Sanderson, Malaia Seymour, Sam Uiga, Maya Wright, Tia Wright and Anita Zheng.



BATD Scholarships

Upon completion of the B.A.T.D. examinations, the examiner may choose to select students to attend scholarship classes when outstanding results have been obtained. These students will participate in the classes held at the B.A.T.D. National Conference in Toronto. The following students have been recognized and will be attending:

Sarah Dover (Snr Tap), Jean Godinho (Jnr Ballet), Victoria Gravina (Snr Ballet), Shae MacNeil (Jnr Ballet), Emily Romeo (Jnr Ballet), Caitlyn Sanderson (Snr Ballet), Eve Schmeichel (Snr Ballet), Kiera Smith (Snr Ballet), Kelsey Wakely (Snr Ballet) and Tia Wright (Snr Ballet).

Way to go girls - you should be very proud of your accomplishments!



Light The Night Walk for Leukemia and Lymphoma

2016 Pino Gravina Award

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in this cause.  For the 11th consecutive year "Stallion Survivors" has participated in the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia  & Lymphoma. We walk every year in memory of Miss Jennifer's late husband - Pino Gravina, and in support of those currently battling this disease. This year we again raised over $15,000, making our total raised to date in excess of $165,000.....Pino would be so proud of this accomplishment. We couldn't do it without everyone's love and support.......thank you for helping us make a difference in this cause that is very near and dear to our hearts at JAM.
